Docs Features The Feed

The Feed

How the Cognirivus Feed works, including scopes, sorting options, filtering, search, and layout settings.

The Feed

The Feed is the central landing place for reading and discovery in Cognirivus. It displays a live stream of content matching your preferences, with controls to narrow down exactly what you want to read.

Feed Scopes

You can quickly switch between three major scopes at the top of the feed:

  1. For You: Your personal curated feed. It shows items ingested from the Sources you follow.
  2. Public: Globally shared items. This is a discovery space showing public text, link, and media posts from all users.
  3. Community: Aggregated feed showing posts published within communities you are a member of.

Sorting Content

Rank articles based on what matters to you right now:

  • New: Chronological feed starting with the most recently published or ingested items.
  • Top: Ranked by community score (likes minus dislikes).
  • Discussed: Sorted by comment activity and thread size.

For Top and Discussed, you can filter by time range:

  • 24h: Past 24 hours
  • 7d: Past 7 days
  • 30d: Past 30 days
  • All: All-time ranking

Layout Formats

You can toggle between two layout styles using the visual toggle button in the toolbar:

Bento Grid Layout

A high-density dashboard that packages items in cards of varying widths. This is ideal for quickly scanning headlines, sources, and scores across multiple items at once.

List Layout

A classic single-column layout, similar to traditional readers or Hacker News. It provides a structured, top-to-bottom reading experience.

The filter bar allows you to filter the current feed by:

  • Search: Free-text search matching titles and snippets.
  • Source Type: Limit to websites, RSS feeds, or YouTube videos.
  • Tags: Select one or more tags to view related articles.
  • Source Domain: Focus on content from a specific domain.
