Quick Start
Welcome to Cognirivus! This guide will walk you through the essential steps to set up your account, customize your feed, and start curating knowledge.
Step 1: Create an Account
- Visit the home page and click Sign In.
- Sign in with your existing Bluesky account (or create one on bsky.app).
- Your Bluesky handle becomes your public identity across Cognirivus.
Step 2: Follow Your First Source
Cognirivus is source-first. To start filling your feed:
- Navigate to the Sources page from the sidebar.
- Click Follow Source at the top right.
- Paste the URL of a website, RSS feed, or YouTube channel you want to follow.
- The system will start ingesting recent items from this source immediately.
Step 3: Browse Your Feed
Now, head over to your Feed (the home icon in the sidebar). You can switch between three primary views:
- For You: Content from sources you follow.
- Public: Globally trending or discussed items across the network.
- Community: Content posted within communities you belong to.
[!TIP] Try toggling between the Bento layout (compact, high-density dashboard) and the List layout (classic single-column feed) using the grid icon in the toolbar.
Step 4: Share and Discuss
When you find a source item you want to highlight or discuss:
- Click the Share button on the item.
- You can add a title, description, tags, or choose a community to post it to.
- Once posted, other users can upvote/downvote and write threaded comments.
Step 5: Join a Community
Knowledge is social. To find others:
- Click Communities in the sidebar.
- Browse the public directory and join a community that matches your interests (e.g., Svelte Developers, Tech & AI, Philosophy).
- Jump into the community's Chat room for real-time discussion, or browse their curated collections.
